Rocky Mountain Showdown 2012 – Rams prevail!

Father-Daughter Bowl #7

For the first time since 2009, my CSU Rams beat their big brother NCAA football team from Boulder. The final score was CSU – 22, CU – 17. As was the case in 2009, the Rams were the better team on the field for a large portion of the game. The Buffaloes did have their moments, but a series of miscues and the inability to stop the Rams running game in the 4th quarter coupled with their inability to get their own running game going again proved to be their downfall. It was easily the most exciting game in the series since CU won an overtime game in 2007. This game was back and forth and not fully decided until late in the game which hopefully pleased most local casual college football fans.

So, after properly settling up for last year’s loss, (see photo below) it will be fun to remind Ashley in the fall of 2013 that its her turn to wear the green, white and gold of CSU!

CSU’s win in 2012 was a double bonus thanks to a side bet at my new job with neighbor and friend Justin MacLean who went to CU. Thanks for lunch, Justin! 🙂
