Training for the 2016 Bolder Boulder 10k and Colfax Marathon Relay

One of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2016 is to get more miles in than I did in 2015. That total last year was 158.4 miles. To do this, I’ve decided to track and log my runs this year, and I thought it would be fun to try out this weekly format. Having them appear in “print” on my blog helps keep me accountable and track what efforts are helping. 2015 saw me gain a little weight for the first time in 20+ years, so I’d ideally like to lose about 5 lbs to get back to a more ideal long distance running form by early May.

Vitals for the week, 2/1/16 — 2/7/16*:

Age 46
Avg Weight  178.4 lb
Overall Steps 80,790
Total Floors Climbed: 224
 Total Distance: 40.38 miles
Avg Sleep Duration: 3 hrs 14 min

For training runs this past week, it was 2 family visits to the Trails Rec Center for workouts and basketball. Still too much snow on the ground from the big winter storm we had last week to run safely outside. The warm weather this week has done a great job of melting all that snow off the sidewalks though so a first outdoor run of 2016 might be in the cards very soon!
