So yeah, I’m pretty excited to share this news!
I’ve written about it on a few of my social networks these past few weeks, but in case you hadn’t seen any of those, this happened:
That’s right, the happy guy in the upper right corner (yours truly!) will be writing a few blog posts in the coming months for the BolderBOULDER 10K – the 3rd largest running race in the United States! Last year over 52,000 runners participated. If you have never run it before, but always been curious – go sign up and make 2016 the year!
I love the Bolder Boulder 10K race. It has been a part of my life for a very long time and it always delivers a huge sense of accomplishment, excitement, and lasting memories each and every Memorial Day.
My father and I first ran it together back on May 30th, 1983. After moving to Boulder from Chicago, Illinois along with my Mom and younger sister Amy in the summer of 1980, I ran my first 10K a few years later at the age of 14. We came in together at around 58 minutes and my obsession with the BolderBoulder 10K race had begun. 29 races later, here I am, training for my 30th BolderBoulder. Along the way I’ve run it by myself, run with my Mom, run with my sister, and walked with my Dad, son Tobey, and wife Carrie. Whatever the combination – its always been a good time.
I feel quite honored to help spread the word about this race that has been such a big part of my life over the years. Stay tuned – I’ll be writing a special post for the BolderBoulder website about Running With Technology in April!
